  • Overview

    Assists in the evaluation of skills examinations for EMT/Paramedic National Registry practical examinations.

    Responsibilities

    • 60% Oversees the conduct and safety of skill evaluation areas.
    • 10% Ensures the integrity and reliability of the examination.
    • 10% Maintains strict security of all examination related items throughout the examination.
    • 5%   Ensures equipment used for the exam is in operable condition.
    • 5%   Uses National Registry skill sheets to evaluate students.
    • 5%   Assists the lead examiner with the set up and tear down of the skills testing stations.
    • 5%   Performs other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.

    6. Assesses student knowledge, skills, and abilities regardless of how or where the learning and skills were acquired.

    Qualifications

    • EMS certification of license for State of Texas at equal or higher level for which instruction/testing is assigned.
    • Two year's work experience at equal or higher level for test being administered.
    • Demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process and proven commitment to student success.
    • Collegial attitude with college community as well as outside entities.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of instruction, testing and evaluation of students.
    • Knowledge of current national curricula, national accreditation, national registry, and requirements for state certification of licensure.

     

    This position requires three professional references. This position is considered a security sensitive position and will require a criminal background check.
