  • Overview

    Carries out the successful implementation of the College Credit for Heroes Grant Phase VII for the period of December 1, 2018 - November 30, 2019.  This is a grant funded position expected to last 12 to 18 months.

    Responsibilities

    • 35%   Coordinates and conducts outreach and recruitment activities with veteran organizations.
    • 30%   Develops and implements a process to translate military training experience into college credit, certification, or advanced standing in the area of advanced technologies and manufacturing.
    • 10%   Establishes a Veterans Task Force representing area veteran organizations, business leaders, and key stakeholders.
    • 10%   Maintains the web page to provide information regarding services available under the grant.
    • 10%   Maintains accurate records regarding recruitment activities and prospective student contacts.
    • 5%     Performs other job duties as require by the grant.

    7. Maintains a positive attitude toward the team concept of problem solving, planning, curriculum translations, and an overall commitment to veteran student success.

     

    Qualifications

    • Two years to five years of similar or related experience.
    • Preference will be given to a veteran who served in the active military, naval, or air service and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.
    • (1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
    • Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
    • Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the college for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
    • Confident public speaking ability.
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
    • Computer proficiency, including Office 2010, Word, Excel, and Access, internet skills, and email in a network environment.

    This position requires three professional references. This position is considered a security sensitive position and will require a criminal background check.
