Grayson College Center for Workplace Learning seeks a motivated and dedicated part-time instructor who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and the ability to motivate and educate students for a position as a CNA.
 
Instruction may be delivered in a classroom, an industry setting, or as a blended face-to-face and online training.
 
The teaching assignment is for evening classes at the Grayson main campus, Denison, Texas

 

The hourly rate for this position is $35 per hour.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • 50% Prepares and presents lectures, discussions, and lab experiences using a variety of training aid, instructional devices, and learning technologies.
  • 25% Facilitates hands-on application as aligned with course curriculum.
  • 10% Prepares and provides feedback to students and clients.
  • 10% Conducts evaluations and assessments of student performance.
  • 5%   Develops learning outcome measures.

Qualifications

  • Current LVN nursing license in the State of Texas.
  • Have a minimum of one year of long-term care experience in a nursing home.
  • Have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides
  • Work under the general direction of the program director or be the approved program director who meets the requirement
  • Three years of direct experience teaching/training in the particular subject area and its application in the workplace.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • AAS degree or licensure in Health Sciences or a closely related discipline preferred.
  • Specialized training or certifications mandated or recommended by credentialing agency in alignment with the resulting job.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
  • Work involves extensive personal contact with others and can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others.
  • Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
  • Ability to interact with students positively and encouragingly.

 

This position requires three professional references.  This position is considered a security sensitive position and will require a criminal background check.
